Q. How, when and where can I vote early?

A. Any Will County registered voter may cast a ballot at the Homer Township Office of the Clerk or at the Will County Clerk’s Office, as well as certain other city, village and township offices throughout Will County once early voting begins. Q. What if I forgot to register in time?
A. For individuals who were unable to register to vote or change their address 28 days prior to an election, please contact the Will County Clerks office for additional information or read about Grace Period Voting on this webpage under voting.

All Early Voting locations offer Grace Period Registration for individuals who need to register to vote for the first time or to submit a change of address. To participate in Grace Period Registration, two forms of identification are required, one of which must show the voter’s current address. Those who participate in Grace Period Registration must cast their ballots at the same time they register.

  • You must be a citizen of the State of Illinois
  • Bring two forms of identification, one showing your full legal name and current address
  • At least 18 years old by the next election (17 year old’s can register as long as his/her birthday is on or before the next election date).
  • You must have lived in the voting precinct for 30 days by Election Day
  • Registration is open throughout the year except during the 27 days preceding an election (see General Registration).

Once registered a Voter’s ID card will be sent to your home address directly from the Will County Clerk’s Office. The card will list your current polling location. You may contact the Will County Clerk’s Office at (815) 740-4632 if you have any questions.

Vote By Mail Applications will be available in the Will County Clerk’s Office within the appropriate timeframe set forth by the Will County Clerk.

Vote by Mail is a safe and secure way for voters to complete their ballots in the privacy of their own homes. To receive a ballot through the mail, registered voters must first complete and submit a Vote by Mail Application.
